Bulk Tank Driver (CDL-A) for Byrne Dairy

Make upwards of $68,000 a year as a Bulk Tank Driver for Byrne Dairy! This position is also eligible for a sign-on bonus of $10,000 to be paid out in increments within a candidate’s first year of employment.

Byrne Dairy Bulk Tanker

The Bulk Tank Driver is responsible for receiving, transporting, and delivering raw milk from the milk producers (farms) to Byrne Dairy’s processing plants in DeWitt and Cortlandville.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for achieving assigned goals in the area of transportation, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
2. Notifies others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities, performs inspections daily before and after picking up and deliveries, submits daily report of truck’s operating condition.
3. Records load quantities and issue tickets to milk producer.
4. Provides all samples taken to the required locations.
5. Sanitize and wash trucks inside and outside daily.
6. Responsible for complying with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
7. Aids and support to all area’s transportation/receiving as assigned by supervisor/lead.

Education/Experience Needed for Byrne Dairy Bulk Tank Drivers

1. Minimum of GED or High School Diploma is preferred.
2. Ability to obtain a NYS Milk Receiver’s license is required.
3. Valid CDL A w/ Air Brake to include a Tanker endorsement is required.
4. Working knowledge of NYS DOT standards and safety equipment is required.

Delivery Driver (CDL-B) for Byrne Dairy

The Delivery Driver is responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering dairy products from Byrne Dairy’s warehouse facilities to customers.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for achieving assigned goals in the areas of distribution, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
2. Responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering dairy products from the warehouse to customers.
3. Rotate and fill shelves with merchandise at retail locations removing out-of-date products as needed.
4. Assist in writing customer orders and make changes as needed. Accurate account collection and reconciliation. Collect all empty cases returning to the warehouse at the end of the shift.
5. Provide superior customer service to each account through timely and accurate delivery of all products, always engaging in positive interactions with customers.  Act as a liaison of the company, resolve customer concerns and issues and provide information to supervisory staff when unable to do so.
6. Operate straight trucks in compliance with all DOT regulations.
7. Must be able to drive a standard transmission.
8. Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
9. Maintain accurate HOS records on electronic logging devices (ELD).

Education/Experience Needed for Byrne Dairy Delivery Drivers

1. Minimum of 1 year driving experience with CDL-A/B with Air Brake with excellent driving history.
2. Must be able to drive a standard transmission.
3. Must be able to drive automatic straight trucks.
