Our Farms
Local farms within 50 miles of the plants provide most of our milk supply, balanced with cooperative partnerships.
Byrne takes pride in keeping a direct relationship with our farmers. We continue to pick up the milk daily, and haul it ourselves directly to our processing facilities. Some of our farmers have been with Byrne for generations!
Sustainability
Byrne strives to maximize sustainability throughout our operations. We partner with engineering firms to continually optimize efficient energy use for our key utility systems such as LED lighting, water, compressed air, steam, and refrigeration equipment. Our investments in wastewater treatment operations have resulted in improved pre-treatment of our effluent (liquid waste), while using fewer chemicals in the process.
Community Giving
Byrne’s Community Outreach Committee prioritizes requests to support the following causes in the greater Syracuse and Cortland areas of Central New York:
- Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM) education
- Wellness and nutrition
- Agriculture
- Veterans
We donate money or milk products to registered nonprofit organizations and schools. Your organization must provide a completed W-9 form for Byrne to process a monetary donation.
Your organization is responsible for picking up product donations at the appointed time and location.
Due to the high volume of donation requests we receive, we are unable to fulfill every request. Our Community Outreach Committee meets quarterly to review requests. We will contact you if we are able to support your organization.
